How to get downtown on foot

On foot is the best choice

We really are just steps from the centre: we warmly recommend getting there on foot — it's the best way to discover the city along the way. If you'd rather have an alternative: shared scooters and bikes, AMT buses and taxis are always available.

The route, step by step

From the front door, turn right, reach the traffic lights, turn left, cross the street and keep walking straight: in just 800 m and 10 minutes you will arrive at the entrance of Villa Bellini. From here you can either cross the park to reach Via Etnea, or continue for less than 3 minutes to Via Etnea. In 13 minutes on foot you'll be in downtown Catania. By sharing scooter (Lime or Dott), just 4 minutes.

Useful info

  • Along the way you will find 2 supermarkets, bars, shops, tobacconists, restaurants, a hospital and a few ATMs.
  • The little street between the main entrance of Villa Bellini park and Via Etnea is called Via Sant'Euplio, famous for its restaurants and pubs.
  • The ALIBUS (airport shuttle) stops near Via Etnea, towards the Feltrinelli bookstore: according to Giovanni it takes 25-30 minutes to the airport with frequent departures until midnight — check the up-to-date timetable on the AMT website or app before you go.

Ticket: €4.00, valid for 90 minutes also on AMT urban lines. Buy it on board (cash or card), on the AMT Catania app, or at the subscription office and AMT retailers.
